As an organization we are continually looking for ways to better improve the experience the players and their families have with the Knights.  That said this season we will see a change in the house hockey team placement and registration process.  Historically we have opened registration in the spring and held it open through the end of summer.  Where necessary we would hold placement evaluation skates in the fall to decide what teams players should be placed on and then look to finalize coaches from there.  

For the 2024-25 season we will look to change this which will enable us to be more efficient in fielding teams, organizing coaches, uniforms and ice times as well as other added benefits.  Please see below for more information on the changes.  

Placement Evaluations

At the end of March we host our house evaluations.  We will look to offer two sessions and all players who are interested in playing for a Knights house team next season should plan to attend at least one of the two.  These sessions are not a tryout and there will be no cuts every player will be placed on a team for the upcoming season.  If for some reason you are unable to attend either of the sessions please let us know.

Notification of team placement will occur early in the summer once the registration process has closed (see more information in next section) and we have final numbers for the upcoming season.  

Registration

We will look to open team and uniform registration early April and close it at the end of May.  This will give us ample time to organize teams as well as get jerseys on order so they are available for the start of the fall season.  We technically cannot open it until the close of the 23-24 USA Hockey season as all participants will require new USA Hockey Insurance numbers and these cannot be acquired until the official start of the 24-25 USA Hockey season.  

We certainly recognize that a lot of development will occur over the summer as many players will attend camps and clinics as well as mature physically and emotionally.  We will still reserve the right to make any final adjustments in the fall if necessary but this should be the minority of instances.

6U Program Offerings:

• 4-5 season Jamborees (1/3 of the rink with smaller nets)
• 2 practices per week:
  • Fun skill based drills to promote skating and puck control
  • Consistent schedule
  • All at the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center 
• Additional team activities and events for players and families.

8U House Program Offerings

• 15-20 competitive games including 1 tournament (additional tournaments available based on team interest)
• 2 practices per week:
  • Both skill based and 1/2 ice
  • Speedskills Ice Training
  • Consistent schedule
  • All at the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center 
• Additional team activities and events for players and families.

10U ,12U & 14U House Program Offerings

• 15-20 competitive games including 1 tournament (additional tournaments available based on team interest)
• 2 practices per week:
  • Both skill based and 1/2 ice
  • Speedskills Ice Training
  • Consistent schedule
  • All at the Greater Canandaigua Civic Center 
• Additional team activities and events for players and families.

Pricing for the 2024/2025 Season are not yet finalized.  However, here is the pricing for the 2023/2024 season to provide you an idea of the cost at each level. 

• Beginner - 2014 - 2019 Birth Years - $125
• 6U - 2017-2019 Birth Years - Est cost - $600 - $650
• 8U - 2015-2017 Birth Years - Est cost - $850 - $900
• 10U - 2013-2014 Birth Years - Est cost - $1235 - $1275
• 12U - 2011-2012 Birth Years - Est cost - $1350 - $1400

Registration for the Knights house program will open soon with evaluations for team placement to take place at the end of March, 2024.   Final number of teams created and additional program offerings will be determined by number of player registrations and coaching availability.
